Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an RF Engineer to support a team developing Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This position is located on-site and involves working with lead engineers and other contractors. The role will focus on RF hardware design, prototyping, testing, and software integration to support the development of new systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow operational scenarios, architecture framework, and RF performance requirements to develop new system RF designs.
- Review the development of new system requirements in regards to RF performance.
- Assist with RF component requirement specifications as needed.
- Research and recommend appropriate COTS or vendor-developed RF components based on performance requirements and system constraints.
- Review vendor simulations of candidate antenna performance and support the selection of antennas.
- Assist with building an RF spread bench to test and evaluate candidate RF system components.
- Support chamber testing of new systems or prototypes and assist with documenting RF block diagrams.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of a new system's RF switching hardware.
- Generate and maintain RF component Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and conduct these procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting RF system issues and ensuring compliance with military standards.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:- A minimum of 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's in Science; 1 year with a Master's degree; or a PhD.
- Experience with RF systems is required.
Skills:- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Experience with RF component selection, system development, and test equipment.
- Experience mitigating co-site RF interference.
- Experience using mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic Warfare principles.
- Familiarity with aircraft RF safety and relevant military standards.
- Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Experience integrating RF systems with military aircraft.
