Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Flight Test Conductor to lead flight test program planning and execution. This position will involve many aspects of flight sciences and mission systems. The successful candidate will lead test conduct through coordination of flight test operations with various functions and support groups. Regular and predictable attendance is required for this non-managerial, non-leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and verification of test methods.
- Develop detailed test procedures, instrumentation, and configuration definitions needed to perform tests and minimize risk.
- Perform detailed planning and execution of aircraft ground and flight tests.
- Review test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality, and fidelity prior to delivery.
- Prepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements.
- Present test results internally.
- Archive data and reports.
- Train and guide junior test conductors with their career development in flight test.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry is required.
- 5+ years of experience with the principles of flight test or experience directly supporting flight test operations is required.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in planning and conducting system-level lab, ground, or flight testing, along with 100 or more hours of control room experience as a Test Conductor.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing tactical aircraft flight testing, including planning and execution.
- 5+ years of experience directly interfacing with customers and senior program leadership.
- 5+ years of experience developing detailed test points from system-level specification requirements, including test planning, execution, and reporting of test results.
