Job summary
The IT Delivery Lead, SAP S/4HANA Transformation will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation and migration projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience guiding technical and functional teams through complex ERP transformations, ensuring the successful rollout of solutions that align with business objectives, budget, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Program leadership: Provide strategic leadership and program management oversight for multi-wave SAP S/4HANA transformation projects, from planning through execution.
- Delivery management: Own the end-to-end delivery of the SAP S/4HANA solution, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
- Team leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including SAP functional experts, technical developers, data migration specialists, and system administrators.
- Stakeholder management: Act as a primary liaison between business functions, IT teams, and senior leadership to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Strategic guidance: Advise stakeholders on how to leverage the capabilities of SAP S/4HANA to solve complex business problems and drive process improvements.
- Governance and reporting: Establish and manage delivery governance structures, oversee key program management activities (RAID logs, change control), and provide regular status reporting to project boards.
- Solution design: Ensure the SAP solution architecture and design are aligned with enterprise standards, SAP best practices, and overall business strategy.
- Risk and issue mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks and issues, create mitigation plans, and escalate appropriately to ensure project success.
- Methodology and best practices: Promote and enforce delivery methodologies, such as Agile, and ensure quality assurance and compliance with SAP best practices.
- Cutover and post-go-live support: Lead planning and execution for critical project phases like cutover and hypercare, ensuring a smooth transition to operational support.
- Vendor management: Effectively manage relationships and output from third-party suppliers and system integrators to ensure adherence to agreed-upon timelines and service-level agreements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of experience delivering large-scale SAP projects, with at least one full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation in a leadership role.
- SAP expertise: Deep, end-to-end knowledge of the SAP ecosystem and specifically the functionality and architecture of SAP S/4HANA, including key modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
- Project management: Proven track record of managing complex IT programs using recognized methodologies like Agile, and proficiency with tools such as Jira, MS Project, or Azure DevOps.
- Leadership and communication: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse, global teams and engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making data-driven decisions and navigating ambiguity.
- Change management: Experience in organizational change management and successfully leading teams through major business transformations.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as SAP Activate, PMP, or ITIL are highly desirable.
