- Manage version control, branching, and pull request workflows using Git and GitHub Workflows
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines and automation for metadata and source-driven deployments
- Diagnose and resolve build, merge, and deployment failures quickly; implement preventive guardrails
- Create and execute cutover plans, back-out strategies, and smoke/validation checks
- Maintain release calendars, communicate statrisks, and provide clear documentation and release notes
- Enforce change management standards and environment strategies (data seeding, refreshes, access)
- Partner with engineers to improve Apex/JavaScript deployment readiness, code quality, and test coverage
- Track and report on release health metrics; drive continuous improvement of the release process
Required qualifications
- 1+ year in a hands-on release function (release management, Release Train Engineer, or engineering role with release ownership)
- 1+ year full-time Salesforce engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with Git and GitHub Workflows (branching strategies, PR reviews, tagging, conflict resolution)
- Salesforce programming experience with Apex and JavaScript
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to isolate and fix build/deployment issues rapidly
- Basic familiarity with agentic coding approaches and use of AI-assisted development tools
- Willingness to occasionally work late-night release windows with shifted hours; total weekly hours not expected to exceed 40
Preferred (nice to have)
- Experience with CI/CD for Salesforce (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and package-based deployments (unlocked/managed)
- Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps tools (e.g., SFDX, Metadata API, LWC tooling) and environment management
- Knowledge of test automation and quality gates integrated into release pipelines
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination and stakeholder updates
Work style and schedule
- Occasional off-hours release support; schedule shifted to maintain work-life balance and a 40-hour workweek target
Hiring process and tech screen
- Candidates must pass a technical screen evaluated by a senior engineer
- The screen focuses on a sample repository’s build/deployment issues: investigating root causes, resolving problems, and clearly explaining findings and decisions

- Draft small features, utilities, or fixes to unblock teams and validate approaches.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of hands-on Salesforce experience in an admin, developer, or DevOps/operations capacity.
- Strong coder able to quickly read, reason about, and write code in at least one language (e.g., Apex, JavaScript, Python, or Shell).
- Familiarity with Salesforce fundamentals: objects, metadata, profiles/permission sets, APIs (REST/Bulk/Tooling), SOQL/SOSL.
- Clear, concise communicator comfortable interfacing with non-technical and technical stakeholders.
- Interest in platform “meta-work” (governance, tooling, automation) beyond pure feature development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX), unlocked packages, and CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- Exposure to license management and cost/usage reporting across multiple Salesforce clouds/orgs.
- Comfort with telemetry and reporting tools (e.g., API-based extracts, data pipelines, BI dashboards).
- Knowledge of environment strategy and deployment patterns (scratch orgs, change sets, release pipelines).
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Admin, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I) are a plus.
Core Competencies
- Bias for action and fast prototyping; strong debugging and problem-solving.
- Systems thinking with attention to detail and operational rigor.
