Pay Rate : $45 - $50/hr on W2

We have an immediate opportunity for a Java Developer with strong experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale, production-grade systems. This role involves working on complex, distributed applications where quality, reliability, security, and performance are first-class considerations. The consultant will contribute across the full development lifecycle while collaborating closely with engineering teams to deliver high-value capabilities in small, iterative batches.

To be successful in this position, one needs to have 5 7+ years of hands-on experience building Java-based solutions using Core Java and Spring Boot, with exposure to cloud-native and containerized environments using Docker. The role requires writing, testing, and documenting high-quality technical work products, conducting root-cause analysis of domain-level issues, and designing self-contained systems within the team's domain. The consultant will be expected to decompose complex designs into maintainable implementations, anticipate system trouble areas, define test suites and instrumentation for latency and availability, and guide teams in observability, resiliency, and supportability practices.

This position also emphasizes technical leadership and mentorship. The consultant will coach team members on improving reliability, security, and performance, lead by example in vulnerability remediation, evaluate potential attack surfaces, and guide the implementation of security best practices. A strong focus on reuse, optimization, and continuous improvement is essential, along with the ability to identify opportunities for introducing new approaches and technologies. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience), with a Master's degree and airline industry experience considered strong pluses. Exposure to Python, CI/CD pipelines, optimization techniques, and ML/DS is nice to have.
