Senior Developer / Engineer Java, Microservices & Azure Cloud - 67177

Pay Rate : $45 - $50/hr

We have an immediate long-term opportunity for a Senior Developer / Engineer with strong experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native, distributed applications. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Java, microservices architecture, Azure cloud services, containerization, and modern DevOps practices. The consultant will play a key role in building scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise-grade platforms while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

To be successful in this position, one needs to have extensive experience developing Java-based applications using modern engineering practices, including Java 17+, Spring Boot 3, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and microservices-based architectures. The role involves architecting and deploying solutions on Azure Cloud, leveraging services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Event Hub, Azure Cosmos DB (MongoDB API), and Azure PostgreSQL. Strong hands-on experience with Docker, container orchestration, Azure networking (VNet, private networking), and cloud security best practices is essential. The consultant will also be responsible for automating infrastructure provisioning, implementing scalable deployment strategies, and ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability of cloud-native systems.

In addition, this role requires solid DevOps expertise, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, managing source control and releases using Git, GitHub, and CloudSmith, and driving automation to improve operational efficiency. Experience with observability and monitoring using Dynatrace, along with logging pipelines using Dynatrace and Mezmo, is required. The consultant will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural standards, and communicate effectively with product owners and stakeholders. Azure certifications, experience with event-driven architectures, cost optimization strategies, and prior team leadership are considered strong pluses.
