Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C Engineers with backgrounds in nuclear power plant design engineering. This role is responsible for providing technical expertise in support of nuclear plants, performing advanced engineering tasks, and developing minor modification engineering change packages for active facilities. Ideal candidates will possess subject matter expertise and a strong familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and verify design change packages for upgrades and obsolete equipment issues.
- Oversee system modifications across multiple vendors, engineering disciplines, and system interfaces, ensuring nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate project execution with operations, engineering teams, external vendors, and regulatory agencies, serving as the primary technical contact.
- Apply the NEI Standard Design Process and nuclear configuration management principles to ensure modifications comply with technical standards.
- Evaluate system performance and resolve plant operational issues.
- Mentor engineering personnel on nuclear engineering concepts, digital technology applications, and design change practices.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or I&C Engineering is required.
Experience: A minimum of six to ten years of experience in complex engineering tasks is required, including at least two years working with the NEI Standard Design Process for an operating nuclear utility.
Technical Skills:- Expertise in 10CFR50.59, ASME code, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 Applicability Determinations and Screening processes.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards.
- Strong understanding of nuclear power plant systems.
- Proficiency with computational tools such as ETAP or EDISON for electrical engineering, or GT Strudel for civil/structural engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $45.00 and $52.55 per hour.
