We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft 9.1 Developer to support and enhance a legacy PeopleSoft application environment running on an Oracle database. This role is heavily hands-on and focused on custom development, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance of a mission-critical PeopleSoft system. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a mature codebase and understands best practices for extending and stabilizing legacy PeopleSoft implementations.
Core Responsibilities
PeopleSoft Development
· Design, develop, and maintain custom PeopleSoft 9.1 solutions
· Write, enhance, and debug:
· PeopleCode (Component, Application, Record, and Field)
· Application Engine programs
· SQRs and batch processes
· Develop and maintain custom components, pages, and records using Application Designer
· Implement enhancements while minimizing impact to existing customizations
Oracle Database Development
· Write and optimize complex SQL queries against Oracle databases
· Analyze data issues and perform controlled data fixes
· Support performance tuning efforts in collaboration with DBAs
· Develop and maintain database-backed batch processes and interfaces
Batch Processing & Integrations
· Support and enhance Process Scheduler jobs
· Troubleshoot batch failures and performance issues
· Develop and maintain inbound/outbound interfaces (flat files, database tables, Integration Broker where applicable)
Debugging & Performance
· Perform deep technical troubleshooting across:
· PeopleCode
· Application Engine
· SQL
· Batch processing
· Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in a legacy environment
· Identify technical debt and propose stabilization improvements
Environment & Release Support
· Participate in technical design, unit testing, and deployment activities
· Support lower and higher environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)
· Assist with patches, PeopleTools updates, and system maintenance activities
· Create and maintain technical documentation for customizations
Required Technical Qualifications
· 5+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft development experience
· Strong experience with PeopleSoft 9.1
· Expert-level skills in:
· PeopleCode
· Application Designer
· Application Engine
· SQR
· SQL (Oracle)
· Proven experience supporting highly customized PeopleSoft implementations
· Strong understanding of PeopleSoft batch architecture and Process Scheduler
Functional Exposure (Helpful but Not Required)
· HCM (Core HR, Payroll, Benefits)
· Financials (GL, AP, AR, AM)
