Summary

Mechanical Field Engineer

The Mechanical Field Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities. They will provide expert assistance in reviewing product and equipment submittals, engineering design drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and field engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate mechanical building system startups & commissioning activities.
  • Provide expert assistance in reviewing product and equipment submittals, engineering design drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.
  • Conduct work progress inspections and ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and codes.
  • Prepare field engineering status reports for Project Managers.
  • Coordinate construction scheduling, quality confirmations, and utility outages.
  • Supervise construction activity in the field and act as a liaison between field construction and project management.
  • Manage daily construction activities, RFIs, and field change orders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Experience in mechanical system design criteria development.
  • Ability to manage construction schedules and prioritize project commitments.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • 5+ years in mechanical design field.
  • Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.
