Location: Tallahassee, Florida (On-site) About the Role

Client is seeking an experienced Data Architect to support enterprise-wide data strategy, architecture, reporting, and database optimization initiatives. This role will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to design scalable data solutions, streamline operations, and support case management and election-related systems.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data modeling, SQL/database management, analytics, and enterprise data architecture within complex environments.

Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & Strategy

• Design and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture solutions.
• Develop conceptual and logical data models.
• Define data standards, governance policies, and best practices.
• Support operational data stores and data marts.
• Optimize data access, batch processing, and resource utilization.

Database Management & Analytics

• Manage and maintain large-scale SQL database environments.
• Create complex SQL queries and interpret multiple datasets.
• Identify trends and patterns within complex datasets.
• Support data reconciliation and case management systems.
• Implement database tuning, migration strategies, and recovery planning.

Reporting & Automation

• Develop ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
• Write shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
• Transform raw data into structured business reports.
• Create technical design documentation and process/data flow diagrams.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work closely with IT teams and departmental stakeholders.
• Recommend process improvements using data insights.
• Provide data resources and support to operational teams.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead high-complexity technical initiatives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple projects.
• Mentor and coach junior technical staff.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience with large and complex database management systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Or related field
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered.

• No travel required outside Tallahassee.
• Weekly status reporting and monthly timesheet submissions required.
