Description As part of the Analytics & Insights team, this senior-level engineer will build and maintain data models, visualizations, dashboards, and custom web applications that support Studio operational teams and Studio Executives. This is a highly technical, hands-on role requiring deep expertise across Power BI, data engineering, modern cloud data platforms, and front-end reporting frameworks.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take initiative, drive technical solutions independently, and solve complex problems with minimal guidance. This role also works in an agile environment and leverages AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, semantic layers, and advanced DAX/Power Query logic.
- Migrate and modernize existing Power BI dashboards into a React-based reporting framework.
- Build and maintain custom web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Create and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks (primary) and Snowflake (secondary).
- Work extensively with SQL, Python, and data warehousing architectures including medallion/lakehouse patterns.
- Author, diagnose, and modify Postgres objects (views, functions, stored procedures).
- Use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) for prototyping, documentation, and dev acceleration while meeting code quality standards.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for dashboards, data models, and applications.
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads to implement new standards and drive the studio's data strategy forward.
- Work effectively with both onsite and remote team members.
Requirements Basic Qualifications- 5+ years Power BI development experience (expert-level)
- 5+ years Data Warehouse experience
- 3+ years with Databricks or Snowflake
- Team currently uses Databricks exclusively
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python (multiple years required)
- 1-2+ years professional React experience
- Includes UI principles and TypeScript
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Strong understanding of data management, ETL processes, medallion architecture, and pipeline deployments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications- Experience orchestrating end-to-end data solutions
- Experience with data governance and data security
- Experience developing custom web applications
- Familiarity with Media & Entertainment datasets
- Familiarity with Financial data
- Strong software engineering practices and code quality discipline
