A SAP SCM MM/WM Senior Consultant provides expert-level guidance in designing, implementing, and supporting solutions within the Materials Management (MM) and Warehouse Management (WM) modules of SAP SCM. Beyond project delivery, this role is heavily focused on AMS support, incident resolution, and system optimization, ensuring business continuity and operational excellence. The consultant combines deep functional expertise with strong integration knowledge across SAP modules (SD, PP, FI/CO, EWM), while leading workshops, mentoring junior consultants, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex support issues.

1. Solution Design & Configuration
Configure and optimize MM processes: procurement cycles (P2P), purchase requisitions, purchase orders, release strategies, vendor master data.
Configure WM processes: warehouse structure, storage types, bins, putaway/picking strategies, transfer orders.
Define and implement inventory management processes (goods receipt, goods issue, stock transfers, consignment).
Ensure seamless integration with SD, PP, FI/CO, and EWM.
2. Incident & Ticket Resolution (AMS Focus)
Lead L2/L3 support for MM/WM-related incidents and service requests.
Analyze and resolve tickets within SLA timelines, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
Escalate complex issues to development teams while maintaining ownership of resolution.
Maintain detailed incident logs and resolution documentation for knowledge base.
3. Business Process Analysis
Conduct workshops with business users to gather requirements.
Map business processes into SAP MM/WM functionalities.
Identify gaps and propose enhancements or custom developments.
4. Testing & Data Migration
Prepare test scripts and lead unit, integration, and UAT testing for fixes and enhancements.
Support data migration activities (material master, vendor master, stock data).
Validate migrated data and ensure system readiness.
5. Support & Optimization
Provide ongoing AMS support for MM/WM processes post-go-live.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve incidents.
Optimize warehouse processes for efficiency (RF transactions, batch management, automation).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on incident trends and operational feedback.
6. Documentation & Training
Prepare functional specifications for enhancements and custom developments.
Document configuration, process flows, and support procedures.
Deliver end-user training and create training materials tailored for AMS teams.
7. Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor junior consultants and guide them in configuration and AMS support tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SD, PP, EWM, FI/CO).
Act as the primary point of contact for MM/WM-related support topics in projects and AMS engagements.
