Senior Axway B2Bi Architect – Contract

Remedi Electronic Commerce Group is seeking a highly experienced Axway B2Bi Architect to provide advanced EDI platform engineering, performance optimization, and environment support for a high-volume Axway B2Bi ecosystem. This role is ideal for a consultant who thrives in complex, multi-layered Axway environments and can work autonomously to improve stability, reliability, and scalability.  We project this engagement to require approximately 20 hours per week of effort +/- based on initiative, phase, or other project related factors. 

What You’ll Do

• Assess the current Axway B2Bi EDI environment, including architecture, configuration, and operational processes.

• Lead performance tuning and optimization, ensuring consistent throughput and stable high-volume processing.

• Diagnose EDI and integration issues across Axway B2Bi and related components such as APIM, perimeter services, load balancers, and connectivity points.

• Develop or refine automation using shell scripting to support monitoring, cleanup tasks, and operational workflows.

• Plan and advise on new Axway instance deployments, including environment sizing, configuration patterns, and subscription-based scaling strategies.

• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to internal technical stakeholders and team members to strengthen ongoing support capabilities.

• Recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, and overall environment observability.

Core Axway Expertise

• This role is critical due to the departure of a key architect, creating a knowledge gap and increased strain on the existing team. The consultant will act as a senior-level, self-directed resource responsible for diagnosing issues, improving system performance, and advising on strategic platform initiatives.

  Must-Have Skills / Experience

• Deep hands-on experience with Axway B2Bi Express (required)

• Strong architectural expertise in Axway B2Bi environments (not just administration)

• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues across:

  • Axway B2Bi

  • API Management (APIM)

  • External integrations / connectivity layers

• Experience with performance monitoring and tuning in high-volume environments

• Ability to work independently as a proactive consultant, identifying and proposing solutions

• Experience with automation and scripting improvements in EDI/B2B environments

  Preferred Skills / Experience

• Experience supporting platform migrations (e.g., Red Hat to SUSE)

• Familiarity with Axway subscription-based deployment models

• Experience planning or deploying new Axway instances/environments

• Exposure to international EDI/B2B integration requirements

• General understanding of EDI ecosystems and trading partner management
