Customer is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in power controls to develop and integrate control strategies and architectures for distributed power generation systems.
This engineer will write control narratives and sequences of operations for power generation systems to support the instrumentation & controls (I&C) teams, and help modernize how Customer develops and validates controls-moving from manual field tuning toward simulation-driven, model-based development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and integrate control strategies for distributed power systems
  • Write control narratives and sequences of operations for power generation systems to support the I&C teams
  • Design and validate power-control architectures
  • Support simulation-driven and model-based controls development
  • Coordinate controls implementation across multiple disciplines
  • Apply power-industry standard control systems including Real Time Automation Controllers (RTAC) or similar power plant / microgrid controllers
  • Support MIL/HIL/SIL testing and validation
  • Integrate controls into complete solutions with hardware, software, and systems teams
  • Support factory testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting
Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • 3+ years (Mid), 5+ years (Senior), or 10+ years (Staff) of relevant experience
  • Design with LV / MV AC
  • Power-control architecture design and validation
  • Model-based / simulation-driven controls development

  • MIL/HIL/SIL testing and validation
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and NFPA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industrial-scale inverters
  • Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Solar PV
  • I&C coding experience
  • Grid-forming / grid-following control with seamless islanding and resynchronization logic
  • Microgrid supervisory control (generation-load balancing, economic dispatch, load shedding) and DERMS integration
  • Control narratives for fuel cell + storage hybrid dispatch tuned to data-center ramp / step-load profiles
  • Frequency / voltage regulation, droop control, and black-start sequencing
  • Fast load-shed / load-add schemes for island transitions
  • Tuning and verification of controls against realistic data-center load profiles and grid-disturbance scenarios
  • Fuel cell or distributed generation experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
