Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java/Spring Boot API Developer to join a team responsible for developing and managing a large portfolio of data APIs. This role will focus on modernizing existing APIs for cloud migration, specifically to Azure. The position involves designing, building, and maintaining critical APIs that support data access and integration across the enterprise, addressing growing needs in AI/ML and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain APIs to enable secure and efficient data access and integration between systems.
- Define the structure, functionality, and endpoints of GraphQL APIs to meet business requirements.
- Develop and implement code for GraphQL APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with peer development teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in design sessions and conduct code reviews to maintain quality standards.
- Lead and manage a small team of offshore developers, overseeing their workload and ensuring delivery timelines are met.
- Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery strategies, ensuring architectures meet RTO and RPO.
- Integrate solutions with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Kibana.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of backend development experience with Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
- Proficient in building microservices and developing new GraphQL APIs.
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of microservice architecture and containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Maven.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, with a preference for Azure; experience with cloud migration projects is ideal.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL) for data access and writing performant queries.
- Proficiency with API testing methodologies.
- Prior experience leading offshore development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly Cassandra.
- Familiarity with RDBMS databases like Yugabyte.
- Hands-on experience with the Azure cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Solr.
