Senior Technical Project Manager (Financial Systems Transformation)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead complex enterprise financial systems transformation initiatives. This role requires a unique blend of technical project leadership, financial systems expertise, third-party vendor management, and strong financial acumen.
The successful candidate will oversee large-scale programs focused on modernizing financial forecasting, reporting, planning, and month-end close processes while ensuring alignment with business objectives, governance standards, and delivery timelines.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
Experience
Minimum 8+ years of Technical Project Management experience leading enterprise technology initiatives.
Proven experience managing financial systems, ERP, EPM, or FP&A transformation programs.
Professional Certification
Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required.
Equivalent enterprise certifications such as PgMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner may be considered.
Technology Expertise
Advanced proficiency with Planview (Enterprise One, PPM Pro, or LeanKit).
Extensive hands-on delivery experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & Financial Transformation
SAC Delivery Leadership
Lead the architecture, implementation, and delivery of executive dashboards, rolling forecasts, KPI scorecards, and variance analysis reports within SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Collaborate with finance and technology stakeholders to define reporting strategies and data requirements.
Month-End Close Optimization
Drive initiatives that streamline and automate financial close processes through SAC reporting and ERP integration.
Reduce month-end close cycle times while improving data accuracy and reporting transparency.
Forecasting & Financial Planning
Implement driver-based budgeting, predictive forecasting, and advanced financial planning solutions.
Improve forecasting accuracy and financial visibility across business units.
2. Vendor Management & Governance
Strategic Vendor Oversight
Serve as the primary technical and program management liaison for system integrators, software vendors, and consulting partners.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
SOW & SLA Management
Review, negotiate, and govern Statements of Work (SOWs), contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Hold vendors accountable for technical deliverables, project milestones, quality standards, and budget commitments.
Risk & Issue Management
Proactively identify delivery risks, manage escalations, and drive timely resolution of project issues.
Ensure governance processes are consistently followed across all workstreams.
3. Project Delivery & Planview Governance
Enterprise Program Leadership
Lead high-visibility financial technology projects from initiation through deployment using Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
Planview Portfolio Management
Own project and portfolio governance within Planview.
Manage project schedules, resource allocation, capacity planning, and portfolio reporting.
Track and report multi-million-dollar CapEx and OpEx investments.
Stakeholder Management
Provide executive-level reporting on project status, financial performance, risks, dependencies, and strategic outcomes.
Facilitate alignment among Finance, Accounting, IT, PMO, and executive leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
Technical & Domain Expertise
Project Management
8+ years of enterprise Technical Project Management experience.
Demonstrated success delivering complex ERP, EPM, FP&A, or financial systems transformation programs.
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Deep expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud including:
Live and import data connections
SAP S/4HANA integrations
Data modeling and planning models
Story and dashboard development
Executive reporting and analytics
Planview
Strong experience utilizing Planview as the system of record for:
Portfolio management
Resource planning
Financial tracking
Governance reporting
Financial Systems & Accounting Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
Corporate accounting processes
Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
Month-end and quarter-end close processes
GAAP and IFRS compliance requirements
Financial reporting controls and governance
Vendor & Program Governance
Experience managing large-scale vendor engagements, implementation partners, and enterprise consulting organizations.
Strong contract, SOW, SLA, budget, and risk management capabilities.
