Role Overview

As an Oracle Apps DBA, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle EBS environments across multiple instances. You will ensure system stability, performance, and compliance while supporting integrations and mission-critical business workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2) environments across DEV, TEST, and PROD
  • Perform EBS patching and upgrades using ADOP (online patching)
  • Manage environment cloning, refreshes, and system configurations
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning and resource utilization
  • Manage backup and recovery processes using RMAN and ensure disaster recovery readiness
  • Support and troubleshoot issues related to:
    • Concurrent Managers
    • Workflow Mailer
    • Forms and Reports
    • Application tier services
  • Partner with development teams to support RICEFW components and customizations
  • Collaborate with integration teams to support EDI and external system interfaces, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, including performance bottlenecks and system outages
  • Implement and maintain security, compliance, and audit controls in alignment with pharma/regulatory standards
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Apps DBA supporting Oracle EBS environments
  • Strong experience with Oracle EBS R12.2 (including ADOP patching)
  • Expertise in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • RMAN backup and recovery
    • Performance tuning (AWR/ASH reports, SQL tuning)
    • Environment cloning and migration
  • Strong understanding of Oracle EBS architecture (apps tier + database tier)
  • Experience supporting production environments with high transaction volumes
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system and performance issues
  • Experience in pharma, healthcare, or regulated industries
  • Exposure to EDI integrations (IBM Sterling, high-volume transaction environments)
  • Familiarity with Order-to-Cash (O2C) and supply chain workflows
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) and high availability architectures
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud)
