Job Description:
reduces overall supply risk with strategic evaluation of supplier capabilities and risk mitigation using appropriate tools part of all global innovation activities at Abiomed's vendors while building and managing strong vendor relationships that support business objectives and new product introduction collaboration with the other leaders in the sourcing organization cooperation with the Deign Development and Supply Chain on key innovation projects conducting effective performance management and meaningful career development
Directs and develops a Team as part of the global supplier engineering organization of approx. 3-5employees ( individual contributors) responsible for External manufacturing
Demonstrates superior teamwork in working with peers in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, planning & procurement, logistic, regulatory affairs and lifecycle engineering to facilitate joint innovation projects/programs at suppliers
Provides guidance and technical consultation to other engineers ain the areas of requirements, specifications, design, verification, and validation with regards to supplier related topics
Strong involvement in supplier evaluation and development program
Strongly driving scale-up decisions depending on technical supplier capabilities
Collaboration with global Supplier Quality Assurance organization ensuring external suppliers are qualified, purchased products and services meet specifications, regulations, and quality standards Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations
Drive the engagement, quality and output of the core suppliers
Reduce overall supply risk through understanding of supplier capabilities & capacities and the implementation of stable processes for new products
Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities
