Apex Systems is seeking a
Lead Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics and AI-powered insights that improve customer experience across digital and operational touchpoints. This role sits at the intersection of data science, decision intelligence, and customer experience strategy, helping translate complex data into measurable business outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in advanced analytics and AI, paired with strong communication skills and a customer-centric mindset. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement data-driven solutions that enhance engagement, satisfaction, and operational performance.
What You'll Do- Analyze complex, large-scale datasets to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities to improve customer experience
- Design and apply predictive and prescriptive models, experimentation frameworks, and data visualizations to inform decision-making
- Leverage machine learning, NLP, LLMs, and conversational analytics to generate actionable insights
- Partner cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing, and customer experience teams to co-create and implement solutions
- Translate analytical insights into clear business cases and measurable KPIs
- Track impact and support continuous optimization of customer-facing initiatives
- Communicate findings through compelling storytelling tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder needs
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, decision science, or applied AI/ML
- 5+ years of experience with advanced modeling techniques such as predictive analytics, NLP, LLMs, reinforcement learning, causal inference, or experimentation
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience managing end-to-end analytical projects
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical rigor and advanced analytical techniques to large datasets
- Experience translating insights into actionable strategies and business cases
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex insights clearly and persuasively
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Comfort operating in a matrixed organizational environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and analytics engineering (e.g., cloud data warehouses)
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI, or conversational AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, RAG)
- Background supporting customer engagement or customer experience optimization initiatives
- Prior experience in regulated or highly complex industries is a plus
Education- Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
