Job Summary
We are seeking a Civil / Mechanical Superintendent to oversee civil, structural, and mechanical construction activities for utility-scale solar projects. Acting as the Owner s Representative, this role will ensure EPC contractors comply with project safety, quality, and schedule requirements. The position requires daily field supervision, construction inspections, contractor coordination, and progress monitoring throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee civil and structural construction activities at solar project sites.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Monitor EPC contractor compliance with project safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and field supervision to track construction progress.
- Perform QA/QC inspections and construction walkdowns.
- Ensure Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) compliance and environmental permit adherence.
- Participate in site safety meetings, contractor coordination meetings, and project review meetings.
- Verify EPC contractors schedule pre-construction meetings for new work activities.
- Monitor and review construction documentation and updates in Unifier.
- Track action items, punch lists, and issue resolution.
- Prepare project progress reports and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in civil, structural, or industrial construction.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Background in industrial civil or structural construction.
- Experience working with EPC contractors on large construction sites.
