The Data Platform Engineer partners with infrastructure, product, and engineering teams to build, operate, and scale reliable data and analytics foundations. This role focuses on operational excellence, reliability, automation, and production stability across batch and real-time systems.
Core Responsibilities
Operations & Reliability
* Lead day-to-day operational management of analytics infrastructure.
* Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of batch and real-time systems.
* Drive zero-downtime deployments through CI/CD and release best practices.
* Own incident management, production debugging, and post-incident reviews.
Infrastructure & Platform Enablement
* Provision, enable, scale, and maintain data, analytics, and ML infrastructure in hybrid cloud.
* Build tools for observability, monitoring, alerting, and self-healing.
* Implement infrastructure-as-code and orchestration frameworks.
* Ensure governance, compliance, and security best practices.
Automation & Efficiency
* Develop self-service tooling to improve engineering productivity.
* Drive cost optimization and infrastructure efficiency initiatives.
Required Qualifications
* Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, Java, or Scala for automation and APIs.
* Strong experience with CI/CD (e.g., GitLab, Spinnaker).
* Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with observability tooling (Splunk, Grafana, Datadog).
* Solid knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of distributed systems and debugging production systems.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to operate independently.
* Experience with analytics and ML stack (Spark, Trino/Pinot, Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, MLFlow).
* Knowledge of data governance and compliance controls.
* Experience working in agile, fast-moving environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
