### Job Summary Thinking Minds' client is seeking a senior data engineer to lead the architecture and delivery of scalable data infrastructure supporting reporting, analytics, and decision-making. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, emphasizing data migrations, healthcare data, and durable solutions. The successful candidate will establish engineering standards, guide complex projects through ambiguity, and promote effective knowledge transfer. Work is remote with onsite attendance as needed.

### Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of ETL processes, data pipelines, migrations, and Lakehouse loads for reporting and analytics.
Architect data flows using SQL, Python, and cloud data technologies, applying DevOps practices to deploy pipelines reliably at scale.
Establish medallion architecture standards across bronze/silver/gold layers, determining where transformations belong.
Define Data Quality controls and validation standards; coordinate business verification and sign-off for complex or high-risk changes.
Develop solutions aligned with HIPAA and data security requirements, advising colleagues on compliance considerations.
Use AI and LLM tools to accelerate system discovery, automate repetitive work, support development, and validate outputs while maintaining appropriate human review.
Improve delivery processes, redesign pipelines for scalability, and mentor junior engineers through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
### Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in data management, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of data engineering experience, including demonstrated solution architecture rather than implementation alone.
Expert proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience directing complex technical projects.
Advanced understanding of medallion architecture and sound judgment when requirements or source systems are uncertain.
Experience with version control, CI/CD tools, and practical AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to establish and communicate engineering standards.
### Preferred Qualifications
Experience with healthcare data and HIPAA requirements.
Strong background in complex data migrations, cloud data platforms, and scalable analytics infrastructure.
