Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic Fabric / Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture within Microsoft Fabric. This role will focus on the end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to semantic modeling and analytics enablement, to establish a unified and scalable data strategy. The position requires a strategic architectural focus, partnering with analytics, business, and application teams to build a centralized data foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligning with business and analytics goals.
- Design a scalable data strategy leveraging the full Microsoft Fabric stack, including Lakehouse, warehousing, and semantic layers.
- Architect solutions for data ingestion, pipeline orchestration, and transformations.
- Develop and enforce standards for data modeling, governance, and metric definition to provide a single source of truth for analytics.
- Design centralized semantic data models to eliminate redundant work by downstream developers and ensure consistency in reporting.
- Collaborate with Power BI and PowerApps teams to ensure dataset usability and define application-level data architecture for analytics.
- Establish and maintain a data cataloging and metadata framework, partnering with business owners to document key metrics and data definitions.
- Provide guidance on application-level data architecture, with a focus on staging and integration requirements for analytics and low-code platforms.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture or data engineering.
Technical Skills: Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar modern data platforms) across ingestion, pipelines, and modeling. Expertise in data warehousing, Lakehouse architecture, semantic data modeling, and analytics design. Proven experience delivering enterprise-level data strategies and operating at a strategic level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating data from platforms such as Snowflake.
- Familiarity with Power BI and PowerApps data requirements and application architecture.
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
- Background in large-scale data transformation or modernization initiatives.
