Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Center Operations / Onsite Support Engineer to provide hands-on operational, hardware, and technical support in a fast-paced data center environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with server hardware troubleshooting and repair, Linux, basic networking, and data center operations. The role requires someone who is comfortable working directly with server hardware, replacing components, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with field engineers and vendor support teams.
The candidate should be flexible to support after-hours, weekends, and holidays when required by the customer.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support within the data center.
- Manage, track, and update technical tickets and service requests.
- Perform hands-on server hardware troubleshooting and break/fix activities.
- Replace server components such as drives, memory, power supplies, NICs, GPUs, and other hardware.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and connectivity issues.
- Escort and coordinate with dispatched field service engineers.
- Coordinate break/fix activities with vendor support teams.
- Manage parts shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory.
- Maintain accurate data center documentation, including:
- Serial numbers
- Rack elevations
- Equipment locations
- Runbooks
- System documentation
- Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, access, and facility maintenance activities.
- Execute customer-directed system, software, and firmware updates.
- Proactively monitor servers and communicate issues to the appropriate teams.
- Open, manage, and track service requests.
- Perform troubleshooting and log collection.
- Follow vendor-recommended troubleshooting and resolution procedures.
- Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities.
- Perform hardware deployment and component replacement.
- Install and configure operating systems.
- Support GPU configuration and system testing.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational readiness.
- Support urgent technical issues and provide escalation and coordination assistance.
- Maintain strong customer service and attention to detail.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with data center operations and server hardware.
- Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing server hardware.
- Experience replacing server components and performing hardware break/fix.
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience reading and analyzing Linux logs.
- Hands-on Linux CLI / command-line experience.
- Experience with ticket management and service request tracking.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an onsite technical team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced data center environment.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 65 lbs.

- RoCE / RDMA networking experience.

Work Schedule
- 100% onsite in Memphis, TN.
- Flexible schedule based on customer operational requirements.

Education / Experience
- 1+ year of relevant data center, server support, hardware support, or technical operations experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of relevant technical experience and education may be considered.
