A large aerospace and defense contractor is seeking a customer service-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the Accounts Payable team. This role focuses on processing purchase order invoices and supporting month-end accounting activities using enterprise financial systems.
This is a
hybrid role, requiring
on-site work 2 days per week in Irving, TX.
Responsibilities
- Process PO-related invoices using SAP and/or Costpoint
- Communicate accounting policies and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Support month-end close activities
- Manage multiple tasks independently while meeting service expectations
- Collaborate effectively and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience
- Experience with SAP and/or Costpoint
- Accounts payable or accounting customer service experience
- Intermediate Excel skills; proficiency with Word and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills
Preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP, CAS, and FAR
- Experience with vendor invoice management tools (e.g., OpenText)
- SAP S/4HANA experience
- Advanced Excel skills
