OverviewWe are seeking a Hardware Integration & String Test Engineer to support and lead radar-system testing activities in a dynamic lab environment. This role ensures engineering teams have the hardware, networking, and infrastructure required for effective system development, integration, and testing. The position involves hands-on setup, test execution, lab maintenance, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering groups.
Primary MissionProvide hardware, network, and system-integration support for radar system development and testing by setting up, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex lab test environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support radar system testing within a lab environment
- Set up and maintain complete radar string environments, including:
- Servers
- Network switches
- Power systems
- Cabling (Cat5, Cat6, RF, etc.)
- Perform hardware activities such as:
- Racking and stacking equipment
- Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Hardware configuration and troubleshooting
- Support lab operations including:
- Inventory management
- Equipment tracking and shipment coordination
- Lab organization and readiness reporting
- Work closely with IT, Systems Engineering, and Software Engineering teams to ensure environmental readiness
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test environments
- Mentor junior team members on proper cable routing, equipment setup, and system configuration
- Interface with internal stakeholders and external visitors (e.g., engineering teams, customers, test-site personnel)
- Provide routine status updates, documentation, and reporting to lab management
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced engineering lab environment
- Hands-on experience with:
- Hardware integration and system setup
- Server configuration
- Network switches, routers, and cabling
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and test-environment support
- Experience with inventory logistics and customer interaction
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Desired Qualifications- Experience in defense or government engineering environments
- Practical networking experience; certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are a plus
- Familiarity with:
- Radar systems
- Power-up sequencing
- System-level validation
- Radar string testing
- HWIL environments
- Experience operating test-lab environments with high-reliability or mission-critical hardware
Education- Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, STEM, or related discipline)
