Job#: 2090023 Job Description: Mechanical Test Systems EngineerClearance Required: Active Secret (must be active at start)Schedule: 9/80 Work WeekLocation: Onsite (U.S. Citizenship Required)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Test Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical test systems. This role supports production environments requiring high accuracy, reliability, and strong multidisciplinary engineering skills.
Responsibilities- Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical test systems, including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical test equipment.
- Integrate, validate, and verify test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
- Evaluate production test setups and recommend design modifications to improve performance and eliminate malfunctions.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of engineering experience
- OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design and/or production-support engineering experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with CAD solid-modeling and analysis tools, with emphasis on Pro/E / CREO Parametric.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
- Experience generating mechanical drawing packages.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance; active clearance required at start.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience designing mechanical and electronic packaging.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Windchill, cPDM).
- Experience with cable design, including CREO Schematics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, especially for conveying complex technical topics.
- Experience working across multiple teams, sites, or contract boundaries.
