Tax Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced Tax Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role is a backfill for an existing Tax Consultant SME and requires someone who can step in immediately with deep, hands-on Tax Ops experience. The successful candidate will operate as a trusted advisor, actively challenging existing processes and supporting operational readiness across current and new tax workstreams.
Act as the Tax Operations SME, providing expert guidance on day-to-day tax operational activities.
Critically evaluate and challenge existing Tax Ops processes, controls, and workflows to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Partner with the Tax Ops group to review and validate current and future-state process designs, including any new build-outs or enhancements.
Identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies within existing tax workstreams and propose practical, compliant, and scalable solutions.
Support the execution and stabilization of new tax-related initiatives, ensuring operational readiness and sound design before implementation.
Provide hands-on support and advisory input to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Technology, Compliance) related to tax operations.
Ensure tax operational processes are accurate, well-documented, and aligned with regulatory and internal standards.
Serve as a dependable escalation point for complex Tax Ops questions, issues, or exceptions.
Deliver concise insights, recommendations, and updates to leadership and stakeholders as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $63.00/hr.
