Junior Filenet P8 Architect

Role Summary

We are looking for an aspiring Junior P8 FileNet Architect to join our Digital Transformation team. This role bridges the gap between technical administration and high-level system design. You will assist in architecting the next generation of our ECM platform, specifically focusing on migrating on-premise IBM FileNet P8 environments to cloud-native, containerized architectures.

This is a "growth" role designed for a skilled administrator or developer ready to step into architectural decision-making, framework design, and cloud strategy.

Core Responsibilities

< data-path-to-node="10">1. Architectural Support & Design

• Assist in designing scalable FileNet P8 (5.5.x) architectures, including Content, Process, and Image Services.

• Help define metadata models, folder structures, and security taxonomies for enterprise-wide document management.

• Contribute to the design of high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for ECM environments.

< data-path-to-node="12">2. Cloud Migration & Modernization Strategy

• Act as a key contributor to the Cloud Migration Roadmap, moving workloads from legacy servers to AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA).

• Support the transition from traditional VM-based deployments to containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).

• Participate in "Fit-Gap" analysis to determine which legacy customizations should be retired, refactored, or replaced during migration.

• Assist in architecting end-to-end automated workflows using IBM Case Manager or Business Automation Workflow (BAW).

• Design integration patterns between FileNet and external systems (ERP, CRM, or custom web apps) using REST APIs, CMIS, and GraphQL.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines for automated FileNet deployments.

• Create and maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), System Design Documents (SDDs), and data flow diagrams.

• Provide technical guidance to junior administrators and data entry teams to ensure system alignment with the architectural vision.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience with IBM FileNet P8.

• ECM Mastery: Deep understanding of CPE (Content Platform Engine), ICN (IBM Content Navigator), and CSS (Content Search Services).

• Cloud & DevOps Exposure: * Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).

  • Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.

• Technical Stack: * Proficiency in Java/J2EE for custom component development.

  • Strong SQL skills for database schema design and optimization (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server).

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python or Bash) for migration automation.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
