Senior FileNet P8 Developer

Role Summary

The Senior FileNet Developer will lead the technical execution of migrating legacy IBM FileNet P8 services, content engines, and custom applications from an on-premise environment to a Cloud infrastructure (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure). This role requires a deep understanding of FileNet architecture, containerization (OpenShift/Kubernetes), and the ability to refactor legacy workflows for cloud-native performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Migration Execution: Design and execute the end-to-end migration of FileNet P8 domains, including Content Engine, Process Engine, and Application Engine, from on-prem to cloud-hosted environments.

• System Refactoring: Update and modernize legacy FileNet APIs, Java/J2EE custom components, and Web Services to ensure compatibility with cloud-native architectures.

• Containerization: Support the deployment of FileNet components using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift (IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation).

• Environment Configuration: Configure and tune Content Services (CPE), Content Navigator (ICN), and Enterprise Records in the new cloud environment.

• Integration & Security: Ensure seamless integration with cloud-native identity providers (LDAP/Azure AD) and modern security protocols during the transition.

• Data Integrity: Manage the migration of massive content stores (Object Stores) and metadata, ensuring zero data loss and maintaining document class structures.

• Troubleshooting: Resolve complex migration issues related to database connectivity, storage area migration, and API latency.

Technical Qualifications

• IBM FileNet P8 Expert: 8+ years of experience with IBM FileNet P8 5.x, including Content Navigator (ICN) and Business Process Manager (BPM).

• Cloud Migration Experience: Proven track record of at least one major on-prem-to-cloud migration involving IBM FileNet or similar Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems.

• Development Stack: Proficient in Java/J2EE, FileNet APIs (CE, PE, and Social APIs), and SOAP/RESTful Web Services.

• DevOps & Infrastructure: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins for automated deployments; knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift is highly preferred.

• Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server) as it pertains to FileNet metadata schemas.

• Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting to automate migration tasks.

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solver: Ability to navigate the "unknowns" of legacy code and on-premise dependencies.

• Collaborative: Comfortable working with Infrastructure, Security, and Database teams to align on migration cutover plans.

• Clear Communicator: Able to provide technical updates to leadership regarding migration milestones and risks.
