Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Business Applications Analyst for our client in Madison, to support and evolve their internal business systems environment. This role focuses on maintaining application reliability, improving business processes through technology, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational needs.

The ideal candidate will combine technical troubleshooting skills, business analysis capabilities, and systems knowledge to support enterprise platforms and identify opportunities for improvement. This position collaborates closely with business users, IT teammates, and third-party vendors to ensure critical applications remain stable, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities

Application Operations & Support
  • Provide day-to-day support for core enterprise platforms and associated integrations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate resolutions, and ensure application reliability.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization or improvement.

Business & Systems Analysis
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Assist in designing system enhancements that maximize the value of existing platforms while limiting unnecessary customization.
  • Document workflows, functional requirements, and system configurations.

Testing & Implementation
  • Develop test plans and test cases for application enhancements and updates.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and regression testing activities.
  • Track and manage defects while working with vendors or internal teams to resolve issues.

Technology Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in evaluating new software tools or technologies that support evolving business requirements.
  • Contribute to initiatives that modernize or enhance the overall applications ecosystem.
  • Provide technical insight during system upgrades, integrations, and technology planning.

Project Participation
  • Support application-related initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Assist with system configuration, documentation, and deployment tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project deliverables meet timelines and quality standards.


Requirements

Candidates should have experience with several of the following:
  • SQL or database query development (including PL/SQL or similar tools)
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion, or comparable systems
  • Integrating enterprise systems with third-party applications
  • Data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Snowflake, or similar platforms
  • Collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, project tracking platforms, and documentation systems
  • Database utilities or query tools used for system analysis and troubleshooting


Additional Qualifications
  • Familiarity with process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or IT service management practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience supporting systems within complex operational environments is beneficial.
