Rate: $35-45 / hr
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support our client, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), within the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness (FNW). This role will augment internal staff and support the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of IT applications and projects. The position will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, contract managers, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, contract managers, and development teams.
- Facilitate Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with stakeholders.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop process flows, models, and mock-ups to support system design.
- Assist with system testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination and execution.
- Collaborate with QA teams and guide business users through testing workflows.
- Produce technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Support ongoing system enhancements and maintenance efforts.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT business analysis and 7 years of experience working on IT projects using Agile methodologies is required. Candidates must have at least 5 years of manual testing experience and 5 years of automation testing experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency is required in requirements gathering, translating business requirements into technical and functional specifications, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, and conducting JAD sessions. Experience with process modeling tools such as Visio, Azure DevOps and/or TFS, technical documentation, UAT coordination, and creating data dictionaries is necessary.
Security Requirements
The selected candidate must be able to pass a Level 2 background check. The role also requires signing confidentiality, data use, and disclosure agreements, as well as completing all required ethics and security training. Obtaining CJIS Certification is a condition of employment.
Additional Details
Candidates must provide three government references for similar work performed within the last three years.
