IT Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Project Manager in Fulton, MD.

Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a high-priority firewall governance and remediation program. This individual will drive cross-functional efforts to assess, standardize, and optimize firewall security policies while ensuring compliance with internal security standards and PCI DSS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of a firewall policy review and remediation initiative across the enterprise
* Coordinate firewall, network security, infrastructure, application, and business teams to identify and remediate non-compliant firewall rules
* Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and executive-level status reporting
* Oversee firewall rule inventory analysis, ownership identification, and business application mapping
* Drive efforts to standardize firewall rule naming conventions, including validation of Business Application IDs (BAPPIDs), ownership assignments, and required business context
* Facilitate stakeholder discussions to validate business requirements and determine appropriate access controls
* Coordinate the identification and remediation of overly permissive, high-risk, obsolete, and unused firewall rules
* Ensure compliance with internal security policies, governance standards, and PCI DSS requirements
* Track remediation progress, compliance metrics, and audit readiness activities
* Partner with security and network teams to optimize firewall rule sets and improve overall security posture
* Communicate project status, blockers, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and key stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of Project Management experience leading cybersecurity, infrastructure, network, or compliance-focused initiatives
* Experience managing large-scale security remediation, governance, or risk reduction programs
* Experience working with security compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC, ISO 27001, or NIST
* Experience leading inventory assessments, remediation efforts, audit readiness activities, or governance initiatives
* Strong understanding of firewall technologies, network security concepts, and security controls
* Strong risk management, issue resolution, and executive communication skills
* Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
* Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and drive project execution in complex enterprise environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
