Role Overview
We are seeking a COBOL Mainframe Developer for a 6-month contract engagement. The primary objective of this role is to enhance system resiliency through targeted development, focusing on automation initiatives and improving stability across batch and file-driven processes. The position requires working with highly customized, risk-sensitive ACH systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for mainframe systems, focusing on batch and file-driven processes.
- Develop and implement automation solutions to increase capacity and improve system stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications.
- Work with sequential files and support ACH, DB2, and VCM files.
- Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing.
- Gather business requirements and develop system testing procedures.
- Build and update documentation to ensure standard procedures and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain communication with management and customers regarding system status.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or another IT-related field is required.
Experience: Candidates must have strong JCL and batch processing experience, along with significant work involving sequential files and prior support of ACH and DB2 files.

- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain knowledge in Automated Clearing House (ACH).
- Experience with PEP+ (a platform for ACH processing).
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $57.78 to $67.02 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
