IT Director

Robert Half is hiring an experienced IT Director to join a high-tech engineering team in Austin, Texas. This long-term fractional position offers the opportunity to lead and optimize IT operations, ensuring seamless functionality and innovation within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical skill set and leadership capabilities to oversee critical systems and drive strategic IT initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
Oversee the implementation and optimization of Active Directory and backup technologies.
Manage Cisco technologies to ensure robust and secure communication networks.
Develop and enforce configuration management processes to maintain system integrity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with business goals.
Conduct regular assessments of systems to identify and mitigate risks.
Supervise the procurement, installation, and upgrade of computer hardware and software.
Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards in IT operations.
Monitor and enhance system performance to support organizational efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in managing IT operations and infrastructure.
Strong proficiency in Active Directory and backup technologies.
Expertise in Cisco technologies and network management.
Solid understanding of computer hardware systems and their configurations.
Familiarity with configuration management tools and practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to assess risks and implement effective IT solutions.
Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.
