Role Overview
This role involves the design, development, and delivery of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and services. The position requires a professional who can serve as a technical lead on complex projects, translating business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions while adhering to best practice engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, and deliver multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems.
- Utilize multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java and C++ within a Linux environment.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications for scalable and supportable solutions.
- Own the delivery of entire system components or applications.
- Serve as a technical lead on complex projects, upholding high engineering standards.
- Produce comprehensive and usable software documentation.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and be available for travel for troubleshooting or project launches.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience will be considered equivalent.
Experience: One year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation such as Software Engineer or Software Developer is required with a Master's degree. This experience must include multi-threaded programming and distributed programming in Java or C++ on Linux.
Technical Skills: Experience must involve JDBC, SQL, Object-Oriented design, and design patterns. Knowledge of Oracle and middleware messaging systems is also necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $75.00 and $83.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
