Role: RegOps Java Lead Developer
Location: MetroPark, NJ (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Visa: TN
Duration: 6+ Months (Contract to Hire)
We are seeking a Senior Java Lead Developer to join a Regulatory Operations (RegOps) technology team within a banking environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building server-side Java applications and messaging-driven architectures, along with experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain server-side Java applications for regulatory reporting and operational systems
• Design messaging-driven architectures using Kafka, JMS, ActiveMQ, or IBM MQ
• Lead a small team of developers, mentor engineers, and manage technical deliverables
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams to deliver regulatory solutions
• Work in Agile environments and support CI/CD pipelines
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience (server-side focus)
• Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Framework, Apache Camel, and XML
• Experience with messaging technologies (Kafka, JMS, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ)
• Strong SQL skills with databases such as SQL Server or Sybase
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, and SonarQube
• Experience leading development teams and managing delivery timelines
Preferred:
• Experience with regulatory reporting platforms
• Knowledge of financial products such as IRD, FX, or CRD
• Experience with Fixed Income or derivatives trading systems
• Exposure to collateral management systems
• Murex experience is a plus
Interview Process:
2 Video Interview Rounds followed by a Final In-Person Interview (F2F). Coding assessment may be included.
