- Simulated Outside Plant Maintenance and Repair
- Maintain and repair wires, coax, and fiber from hub sites to customer connection points.
- Monitor, locate, report, and remediate signal leakage per company and regulatory standards.
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance.
- Inside Plant Operations and Compliance
- Install, configure, and operate legacy and new headend equipment.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly testing and logging per company guidelines.
- Ensure cabling, equipment installation, power, and cooling meet corporate standards.
- Maintain logs, records, and documentation to comply with company and FCC requirements.
- Advanced Field Installations and Enterprise Support
- Survey, install, configure, and maintain complex network products for large enterprise clients.
- Implement large multi-site projects, configure edge devices, and support optical connections.
- Collaborate with technical support personnel for advanced troubleshooting.
- Engineering Support and Continuous Improvement
- Provide engineering and operational support for new and existing technologies.
- Create, submit, and implement approved methods of procedure (MOPs) and change requests.
- Develop and implement network enhancements and reliability improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with peer organizations to ensure optimal network performance.
- Communicate clearly with employees, customers, in person, by phone, and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Valid course completion from NCTI Fiber Installation & Activation within 6 months (external candidates or internal candidates outside Network Technology Services).
- Certifications such as NCTI Master Technician, HFC Networks, SCTE Business Class Service Specialist, Cisco CCENT or CCNA.
- 3+ years headend technician experience.
- Telecomm install and maintenance.
