Lead End User Network Engineer
This role owns Tier 3 operational support for campus networking, including wired, wireless, and authentication technologies that directly impact end users across Vanguard sites.
Core Responsibilities:
· Act as Tier 3 escalation for:
o Cisco wired switching
o Cisco ISE / ICE (802.1X, authentication)
o Aruba wireless
o ClearPass authentication
· Support and troubleshoot complex end-user network incidents
· Work closely with Engineering teams during transitions to ensure monitoring, alerting, and NOC readiness
· Educate and mentor S1/S2 analysts on campus and wireless troubleshooting
· Participate in major incident calls involving end-user connectivity issues
Skill Profile:
· Strong campus networking background
· Aruba wireless expertise preferred (Cisco wired skills considered more transferable)
· Experience supporting complex authentication environments (ISE / ICE / ClearPass)
· Operational mindset with solid communication and situational awareness
Candidate Expectations (Logistics‑Driven)
Must be comfortable:
o Leading or actively participating in major incident calls
o Communicating clearly with senior and executive leadership
· Clear verbal communication is mandatory and treated as a gating factor for all S3 roles
On‑Call Rotation:
· On-call participation is required for all S3 roles
· Used primarily for escalations and major incidents
· Frequency varies, but expectation is set up front for all S3 candidates
