OverviewWe are seeking a Software Applications Engineer with experience developing, integrating, and troubleshooting software applications in support of test systems, hardware interfaces, and engineering operations. This role involves hands-on development using modern programming languages, system-level debugging, and work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant engineering or software-development experience (or an advanced degree)
- Experience developing and integrating applications using:
- C++, C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic, or similar languages
- Experience using Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and debugging tools to troubleshoot software
- Experience working in Windows environments, including Microsoft Visual Studio
- Ability to troubleshoot software and test instrumentation at the system level
- Active Secret security clearance required prior to start
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware-optimization techniques
- Experience developing software drivers for hardware interfaces
- Familiarity with communication protocols:
- Experience using UML for software architecture and design visualization
- Understanding of software development lifecycles:
- Knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) principles
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps Server or GitHub
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
