This role focuses on building scalable and resilient Windows/Linux-based systems, improving operational readiness for deployments, and reducing operational toil through automation, monitoring, and engineering best practices.
Team / ReportingThis role sits within Platform Services and partners closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and DevOps resources to implement scalable, resilient systems while minimizing operational toil.
Key Responsibilities1) Platform Operations & Environment Readiness- Configure and manage Windows and Linux systems, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure services.
- Prepare environments for application deployments and validate infrastructure readiness for planned changes and new rollouts.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure Windows/Linux server environments supporting enterprise application deployments (configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting).
2) Reliability Engineering, Monitoring & Observability- Monitor infrastructure health and performance; proactively detect issues and drive resolution with a root-cause mindset.
- Establish and improve dashboards, monitoring standards, and alerting plans for systems and applications to enable proactive detection and rapid troubleshooting.
- Use monitoring/logging platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, App Dynamics, and Splunk) to support observability and incident response.
3) Automation & Engineering Best Practices- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to reduce manual tasks and increase consistency across environments.
- Lead automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible or Terraform where applicable; partner with platform teams to advance infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD integration.
4) AI-Enabled Operations (AIOps) & Copilot Enablement- Evaluate and apply AI-driven features within observability/monitoring tooling to reduce alert noise, improve anomaly detection, and prioritize telemetry for faster triage.
- Help operationalize intelligent dashboards and analytics that answer specific health and reliability questions for the portfolio and enable other teams to use them effectively.
- Use Microsoft 365 Copilot to accelerate creation of runbooks, post-incident summaries, knowledge base articles, and stakeholder communications while maintaining accuracy and appropriate data handling.

- Conduct root-cause analysis for system-related incidents and drive actions that improve resilience and reduce repeat issues.
- Observe delivery workflows and recommend process/tooling improvements to increase efficiency.
7) Documentation & Knowledge Management- Author and maintain system and process documentation (workflow charts, diagrams, system specifications).
- Contribute to knowledge base content to support repeatable resolution of common issues and reduce escalations.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in analysis, configuration and development on relevant platforms.
- 3+ years hands-on development experience with desired programming languages and database tools.
- 2+ year in an operations role providing production support for large enterprise grade applications.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and improving Windows and Linux-based systems in enterprise environments (dev/test/prod), including operational readiness for deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response capabilities, including root-cause analysis.
- Hands-on scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash to reduce manual operational work.
- Experience implementing or operating monitoring/observability solutions (dashboards, alerting, log analysis) using tools such as Splunk and LogicMonitor.
- Proven ability to partner across application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to deliver stable, scalable platform solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure and/or cloud transitions (Azure or similar).
- Experience with additional enterprise monitoring platforms such as AppDynamics and/or SolarWinds (where applicable).
- Security-minded administration experience (e.g., SSL certificate lifecycle, endpoint security, access control) aligned to IT security policies.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted productivity and/or operational tooling to speed analysis, documentation, and communication.
Core Competencies- Ownership and reliability mindset: proactively identifies risks and drives preventative improvements.
- Automation-first approach: consistently reduces manual effort through AI, scripting, and repeatable patterns.
- Strong collaboration: effectively connects application teams with infrastructure/security/DevOps partners.
- Documentation discipline: keeps system and process documentation current and usable for others.
