Job Description:
Site Reliability Engineer III

Location: Plano, Texas (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support the production and operations of critical applications. This role focuses on establishing and improving monitoring to measure end-to-end performance and user availability. The engineer will ensure application readiness by evaluating performance, reliability, scale, and resiliency, while also identifying and triaging production issues to determine the root cause.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full-stack triaging of alerts to identify the root cause of application performance and stability issues.
  • Work with stakeholders to define and track service level objectives (SLOs) for application features and services.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reports to communicate key performance metrics.
  • Work with the engineering team to understand application architecture and perform single-point-of-failure analysis.
  • Execute performance and chaos tests, analyzing results with APM tools to identify stability issues.
  • Document and present findings, analysis, and results to stakeholders.
  • Perform analytics on past incidents to understand root causes and implement automation to reduce recurrence.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with DevOps tools such as JIRA, BMC Remedy, and ServiceNow.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 8 - 10 years of information technology experience, with over 6 years on a DevOps, SRE, or performance engineering team.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience triaging production issues with APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics) and log aggregation tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK).
  • Strong experience in Java, Front-end development (React JS, Angular), and backend databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop).
  • Proficiency in Python, UNIX, and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of SRE concepts like SLI/SLOs and error budgets.
  • Proficiency with system, network, security, and database operations.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in system, network, security, and database operations and protocols.
  • Experience with tools such as Tanium, Artifactory, or BMC TrueSight Orchestration.
  • Experience in server administration with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
  • Understanding of developing fault-tolerant solutions, horizontal scaling, and resiliency.
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment

The position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite, starting from day one.

Compensation & Benefits

A compensation range of $68.68 to $73.68 per hour is offered for this position.
