Top Requirements:

4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering experience

Strong hands-on engineering in Java/Spark or Scala/Spark

Experience with Git, CI/CD, and build tools (Gradle, Maven)

Hadoop ecosystem experience, including:

• Hive
• Kafka
• S3
• Iceberg (nice to have)

Strong SQL and Spark SQL experience, including performance tuning

Strong UNIX/Linux bash scripting capabilities

Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, and distributed data concepts

Nice to Have:

Experience developing cloud-native applications

Cloud deployment experience (AWS or Google Cloud Platform)

Iceberg table format experience

Big-data storage patterns and distributed systems knowledge

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Engineer 3 will contribute to moderately complex engineering initiatives within Infrastructure Engineering, focusing on Java/Scala, Spark, SQL, and big-data platform tooling. This role involves designing and engineering data processing solutions, integrating with Hadoop ecosystem components, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting infrastructure-based deliverables. The engineer will troubleshoot, analyze performance issues, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and infrastructure partners to meet compliance, risk, and operational requirements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Develop Spark-based applications using Java or Scala

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Gradle, Maven

Work within Hadoop big-data environments (Hive, Kafka, S3, Iceberg)

Write, tune, and optimize SQL and Spark SQL processing logic

Create and maintain bash scripts for automation and system orchestration

Participate in performance tuning and improvement efforts for big-data workloads

Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and data engineering teams

Evaluate moderately complex engineering challenges and propose scalable solutions

Contribute to cloud migration or cloud-native application development (AWS/Google Cloud Platform)

Provide technical consultation leveraging strong big-data and infrastructure knowledge

Ensure compliance with internal engineering and security standards
