This role exists to support growing aerospace, robotics, and defense programs that require advanced inspection, measurement strategy, and strict quality compliance.

At ZYCI, this position plays a key role in ensuring precision and reliability in the production of tight-tolerance aerospace components, humanoid robotic parts, and mission-critical defense hardware. The Quality Engineer will help maintain rigorous AS9100 standards, support complex inspection strategies, and ensure products meet the highest levels of performance and traceability.

The Work You ll Be Doing\n
In this role, you will:
\n
\n- Develop and program CMM inspection programs for complex machined components
\n- Optimize measurement strategies to improve inspection accuracy and repeatability
\n- Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to inspection methods and acceptance criteria
\n- Lead and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
\n- Perform and support first-article, in-process, and final inspection activities
\n- Support root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
\n- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and inspection teams to improve part manufacturability and inspection capability
\n- Assist with inspection planning, control plans, and process validation
\n- Support preparation of customer data packages, Certificates of Conformance, and quality documentation
Help maintain compliance with AS9100 quality system requirements \n

Machines, Controls & Software\n
You ll work with equipment and tools such as:
\n
\n- CMM Platforms: Hexagon & Absolute Arm Metrology. PC-DIMIS
\n- Inspection Equipment: CMMs, vision inspection systems, surface plates, height gages
\n- Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, bore gages, indicators, optical comparators
\n- Quality Systems & Tools: AS9102 First Article Inspection reporting, quality databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
\n- Engineering Documentation: Aerospace drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
\n
\n
Materials You ll Work With\n
Precision machined components made from:

These materials are used in aerospace assemblies, robotics systems, and defense hardware.

What We re Looking ForRequired\n
\n- 3+ years of experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing quality engineering
\n- Strong experience with CMM operation and programming
\n- Advanced understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
\n- Hands-on experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspections
\n- Experience working within an AS9100 quality system
\n- Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings
\n- Strong understanding of inspection methods and metrology best practices
\n- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
\n
\n
Preferred (Not Required)\n
\n- Experience supporting robotics or electromechanical assemblies
\n- Experience with automated inspection or vision systems
\n- Knowledge of NADCAP-controlled processes
\n- Familiarity with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) per AIAG guidelines
\n- ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQT, or CMQ/OE
\n- Experience supporting defense or military manufacturing programs
