Duties/Day to Day Overview
• Using established project management methodology/tools, develops project plans for highly complex projects of strategic importance, which include work plans, schedules, budgets, needed skills and resources, project scope, and deliverable/responsibility matrices
• Performs variance analysis (including schedule, costs vs. budgets, resources, and changes to scope). Makes trade-offs with the sponsor, as necessary
• Performs project risk assessment quantification, response planning, and control
• Communicates risks to clients and/or IT management, project sponsors & vendors
• Develops and executes mitigation strategies
• Validates client and functional requirements for the sponsor
• Determines the impact on current/existing technologies and communicates the impact to clients, sponsors, IT management, and vendors
• Makes recommendations on existing application products that could address client requirements
• Evaluates alternative operational efficiencies /business process change
• Makes presentations to IT management, sponsors, and/or vendors
• Accountable for pre- and post-implementation plans
• Provides work direction to project managers
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Exercises strong judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Orchestrates and recommends Program strategy
• Able to discern and clearly articulate how program decisions impact the big picture and vice versa
• Frequently interacts with customers, and/or functional peer group IC'S/managers, normally involving matters between functional areas or internal customers
• May interact with business leadership at all levels
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
• Coaches, mentors, and trains as appropriate
• Contributes to performance appraisals for team members
• Assists in conducting team building/development activities
• Receives limited instruction in determining methods and procedures on new assignments, and coordinates activities of other associates in the group
Top Requirements
(Must haves)
10+ years of relevant experience in Program Management, leading large-scale initiatives and managing a portfolio of projects.
Experience managing the scoping/estimation and delivery of customer-facing software projects is required
Retail domain experience preferred
Ability to be hands-on – partnering with stakeholders to create a detailed project plan, breaking the program into multiple tracks, managing different work streams, and managing those tracks of work as needed, as well as managing risk/budget/resources and partnering with other leaders on prioritization.
Strategically partner with delivery leaders on prioritization and program delivery
Highly hands-on.
Confident and mature attitude.
Additional Qualifications
A strong program manager who is involved in all PM responsibilities and PM fundamentals, from detailed project plans, budget, scope, resource and timeline management, status reports, risk and issue logs, and management, deployment planning
Strong Project management experience with a proven track record of working cross-functionally
Clear, precise communication is a must for this role, as she would be speaking to VPs and above in steering committee meetings and other settings.
Demonstrated SDLC project experience with experience working in an Agile environment, is required
Should be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, deal with, and be able to steer the team in ambiguous situations.
Need a strong, edge-of-your-seat, engaging personality type person
