Job Title: Lead SAP ABAP Consultant – EC Payroll (ECP)

Location: 100% Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead SAP ABAP Consultant with strong expertise in SAP HCM and SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP). The ideal candidate will lead ABAP development efforts, design complex payroll-related enhancements, and support integrations between SAP SuccessFactors EC and ECP systems. This role requires deep technical proficiency, leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience in payroll schemas, functions, and custom development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end ABAP development lifecycle for SAP HCM and EC Payroll solutions.
• Architect and design scalable custom solutions aligned with business and payroll requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to ABAP developers and offshore teams.
• Develop and enhance payroll-related objects such as schemas, PCRs (Personnel Calculation Rules), and functions.
• Work on custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms (RICEF objects) within ECP.
• Support payroll processing, troubleshooting payroll runs, and resolving schema-related issues.
• Design and develop interfaces between SuccessFactors EC and SAP ECP using IDocs, APIs / OData services, Middleware tools (e.g., CPI, PI/PO)
• Handle data replication issues (Employee Master Data, Payroll data).
• Implement enhancements using BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework
• Develop custom ALV reports, SmartForms/Adobe Forms for payroll outputs.
• Analyze and optimize ABAP code for performance improvements.
• Debug complex payroll and integration issues across systems.
• Work closely with functional consultants (EC Payroll, Time, Benefits) to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and deployment planning.
• Ensure solutions comply with payroll regulations and organizational standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, code standards, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise in SAP ABAP including:Reports, ALV, Module Pool Programming, Enhancements (BAdI, User Exits), Forms (SmartForms / Adobe Forms)
• Hands-on experience with SAP HCM Payroll / EC Payroll (ECP).
• Deep understanding of Payroll schemas & PCRs, Payroll clusters (PCL2), Wage types and payroll processing
• Experience with SuccessFactors EC ↔ ECP integration.
• Strong experience in IDocs, RFC, BAPI, OData services, Middleware: SAP CPI / PI/PO
• Solid understanding of SAP HCM modules (PA, OM, Payroll, Time Management), SuccessFactors Employee Central data structures
• Proven experience leading technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile / Hybrid delivery models.
