Summary

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer II located in Madison, WI. Our client is a government agency looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.

Interview Process: 1st Round Interview will consist of a 60-minute in-person interview. Potential 2nd Round Interview - A 60-minute in-person interview. Real time screenshot photo required for all confirmed interviews.

Note: Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI within 30 calendar days of start date. Local candidates preferred. Headquarters is downtown Madison, WI. Services to client must be physically completed within the State of Wisconsin including during remote work. Hybrid, on a weekly basis client is currently 60% remote and 40% in the office. Hybrid requirement is weekly not monthly. New contractor must start onsite for a five-day orientation/onboarding. Work cannot be conducted outside the United States.

Additional details:

Must follow both State of Wisconsin and client Acceptable Technology, Access, and Security related policies as well as work guidance.

Regular work hours are during business hours between 7:00 5:30pm. Should be available for after hour deployments.

Must have reliable high-speed internet provided at own expense if working remotely.

State holidays are not paid unless part of work agreement. No overtime and no weekend differential. Work on state holidays must be approved.

At the end of the contract, the equipment must be returned. If it cannot be dropped off in person or if client Equipment is damaged during the contract, replacement and shipping is done at supplier's expense. If a equipment cannot be dropped off for computer replacements, the shipping is at the supplier's expense.

Skillsets:

  • Advanced level experience with front-end web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular). (4+ years)
  • Advanced level experience identifying, documenting and implementing accessibility, mobile and usability standards, processes and guidance into an organization. (2+ years)
  • Experience using Accessibility tools and techniques to ensure compliance with requirements, such as, Lighthouse, Axe dev, NVDA, Aria, jaws, ANDI) (4+ years)
  • Experience designing user interfaces by using tools, such as, Adobe XD, Figma for prototyping, user flows and wireframes.
  • Advanced level experience designing and testing user interfaces for web applications across platforms, browsers and devices for usability.
  • Advanced level experience working with teams developing custom applications.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a Microsoft .Net environment.
  • Knowledge of universal design principles.
  • Experience with testing tasks such as identifying test scenarios, test data setup, execution, and documenting test results.
  • Experience working with users to meet accessibility needs.
  • Experience utilizing the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and following IT Best Practices
  • Experience troubleshooting UX issues through testing, debugging, research, investigation and identifying solutions.
  • Experience following Iterative/Agile/Scrum Methodologies for completing projects from Initiation through Implementation and Maintenance.
  • Experience understanding defined requirements by identifying and implementing achievable solutions.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills including describing technical items to non-technical staff.
  • Experience writing standards and guidelines documentation.
  • Experience creating technical documentation for processes and applications.
  • Collaborates and shares information with others and is a team player to ensure project success and business needs are met.
  • Ability to meet project timelines.
  • Ability to provide input into task estimates.
