Position SummaryThe IT Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance across enterprise environments. This role performs hands-on systems administration, provides advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and supports the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure initiatives. The IT Systems Engineer serves as a technical subject matter expert, working closely with Service Desk teams, leadership, and end users to deliver stable and efficient IT services within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Administration & Infrastructure Support- Administer, maintain, and support Windows-based server and workstation environments, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including patch management, updates, service restarts, and system optimization.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and health using tools such as Graylog, ManageEngine, and NinjaOne.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Manage Active Directory user accounts, group policies, permissions, and authentication services.
- Support Windows Server environments and endpoint management platforms.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
Technical Support & Incident Management- Provide advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for escalated service desk tickets.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve high-impact incidents and critical system outages.
- Collaborate with Help Desk and support teams to ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, service requests, and technical solutions within the ticketing system.
- Communicate technical issues, status updates, and resolutions effectively to users and stakeholders.
Infrastructure Projects & Deployment- Support the planning, testing, deployment, and maintenance of new applications, systems, and infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in workstation, hardware, and software deployment initiatives.
- Contribute feedback and recommendations for infrastructure design and architecture decisions.
- Assist with technology refreshes, upgrades, and system migrations.
Security, Compliance & Business Continuity- Participate in IT compliance initiatives, audits, security assessments, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and incident response procedures.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and security best practices.
- Assist with maintaining a secure and highly available IT environment.
Continuous Improvement- Develop and improve operational procedures, support processes, and technical standards.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Serve as a technical resource and advisor for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications- Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure, systems administration, network administration, or similar technical support role.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
- Experience managing Active Directory environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
- Experience working within a ticketing system and supporting end users in a service-oriented environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Experience with endpoint management and monitoring platforms such as NinjaOne, ManageEngine, and Graylog.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure concepts and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting healthcare or highly regulated environments.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies and enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, compliance, and security best practices.

Work Environment- Full-time, onsite position.
- Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 AM - 5:00/6:00 PM.
- 37.5-hour work week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
- Occasional evening support as business needs require.
- Occasional Sunday onsite support and one remote Saturday per month (with schedule adjustment provided during the week).

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Valley, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $62.50/hr.
