Summary:

We are seeking a Linux Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our enterprise Linux servers and applications. The ideal candidate will manage multi-server environments, automate routine tasks, and proactively monitor systems to prevent downtime. This role requires hands-on expertise in Linux/Unix administration, system troubleshooting, and cloud infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, services, and applications.
  • Monitor server performance, system logs, and security alerts to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Implement system patches, updates, and security configurations to protect servers and data.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server, storage, network, and application issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup management, and high availability solutions.
  • Collaborate with development, networking, and cloud teams for system integration and deployment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging Linux technologies, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on Linux administration experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting, and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience with troubleshooting server, storage, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with system security best practices and access control.

Preferred Skills / Duties:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus) and log management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
