NPI Engineer | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introduction.
• Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for NPI related issues.
• Define and procure necessary equipment, tooling, and fixtures for new product lines.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flows.
• Support pilot production runs and resolve technical issues during early production phases.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years experience in NPI engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to interpret schematics, Gerber files, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with PLM systems and revision control methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with engineering data.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, VBA) for data automation.
